My Fab Finds Weekly Wish List From Best Little Shops

The old saying that April showers bring May flowers is something I always look forward to. I have a variety of flowers in my little garden and I think I am a bit partial to the purples...they just often seem to stand out in a crowd of colors. So it's really no secret that
I had purple and flowers in mind when I went window shopping in the Best Little Shops this week.

Wouldn't this be an amazing little house to visit or stop by for a cup of tea or coffee? Robin at CustomPortraitArt
creates these amazing

custom portraits
of houses ,animals and
life as you know it.
I can picture myself
walking inside that gate
just waiting for the little
dogs peeking out the window
to start wagging their tails
and running to the door.

So after you walked inside the door and were getting
ready for the tea party
what better caterer than

LePetitCottage

I would imagine that cake
or even cupcakes crumpets
or cookies served on this
dessert stand
would make quite
 the perfect party.

And what would we do without the perfect party hostess at this most perfect party?  I'd love to see someone from
serving up some sweets
hostess with the
mostest bling it to
the party attitude.
I can picture her saying
"Girl you just don't
know what kind of a day I've
had around here!"

Here's hoping that all of you
have a lovely day and that
your next party is a fab one!

The Best Ever Original Art Pet Portraits

Colored Pencil Art Work of Curious Dog Exploring on the Beach
Artwork by Robin Zebley at Custom Portrait Art
I absolutely adore Robin Zebley's Custom Pet PortraitsRobin is a true artist and her work is totally original, with no computer generated assistance. She creates her "magic" the old fashioned way with pencils, paint and brush. Robin works in  colored pencil, oil paints, or watercolor and ink, as appropriate on hardboard, canvas, or paper. She offers a variety of sizes that will exactly fit the spot where you want to display your work of art, and that will suit your budget as well.

Robin is a gifted and talented artist, whose work has been shown in local galleries and won awards at art shows. Her colored pencil art was published in “Colored Pencil Magazine”, and Robin and her boxer Sarge were once featured on a local Philadelphia television news magazine show. Even so, she considers her greatest honor to be that she is entrusted by her clients to create a work of art that captures the heart and soul of their beloved pets.

I think what sets Robin's work apart from some other portrait artists is the fact that she takes the time to work closely with her clients to capture the unique personality of their individual pets. Her process involves photos of the pet, as well as stories and information from her clients about what is special about their companion. The end result is a portrait that truly captures the individual animal, and not just a certain breed. There's just something about those eyes and the body language... Please take a look at her listings at Custom Portrait Art and you will see exactly what I mean. Robin has created numerous cat and dog portraits over the years, but also has captured the images of other, more "unusual" companion animals.

These original pet portraits are a wonderful way to celebrate your past or present greatly cherished companions, whether they be dogs, cats, birds, or rats. They make truly memorable gifts for birthdays, weddings, or holiday gift giving. Robin is often quite busy in the season leading up to the holidays, so why wait? Your original pet portrait will make a great gift at any time of the year, one that will be cherished for many, many years to come.

You can easily contact Robin at her shop to start the conversation about commissioning your very own custom pet portrait. You will be glad you did.

What IS A Monster High Doll?

SILVER BLACK EVENING GOWN JEWELRY

Hi folks.
If you don't already know, there is a craze for dolls called Monster High. What are they? Well, they are fashion dolls developed by Mattel in July of 2010: the same company who does Barbie. However, these ghouls (they prefer that term) are not anything like any other fashion doll. In fact, they're not like any other doll at all.

These dolls are:
1. Monster creations
2. Have weird body proportions
3. Body parts are removable and interchangeable
4. Some are dead.

Dead? What??? Let me explain. These dolls have very large heads, long torsos, most have very slim bodies, and would be dead, if they were alive. They are dolls who have rather mystical or mythological parents. There are: vampires, witches, werewolves, dragons, ghouls, sea monsters, swamp creatures, gorgons, cats, mummies, robots, ghosts, spirits, yetis,  and a few others, with new creations coming out all the time. They are also teenagers, they date, go to school, have love problems and like to party. They have been featured in videos, music, books, make up sets, book bags, key chains and more.

 Custom Cleo de Nile

The dolls also have one very interesting feature, their face makeup can be removed with acetone or fingernail polish remover leading to a whole new explosion of Customs!! Custom creations have popped up everywhere: from a simple new outfit, to a whole new face, re-rooted hair, rooted eyelashes, extra body parts or even a mixture of body parts. Helping this craze along is the "Create A Monster" sets, or CAM's for short, that let you add weird body parts such as mermaid tails, harpy arms, scale feet, dragon wings, snake hair or bony arms (I do mean 'bone-y' arms, with the bones being the only thing!). There are probably more adult collectors of these dolls than the kids they were intended for!!!

Custom MH Flower Kimono

Clothes, jewelry, wigs, play-sets, furniture and all sorts of things have been made by lovers of the line to help the guys and girls look their best and have fun.  I mean, even if your mom was a mummy and your dad was Ramses the Great, is that any reason not to dress fabulously??

So, moms and dads, don't worry if your son or daughter likes monsters. It's OK. Monsters are cool and very fashionable!

Spring Forward With A New Change Purse Gadget Bag

Spring somehow always manages to make me think that there is some sort of wonderful change on the horizon. And what better way to store that change..... or your goodies ...and makeup..... and gadgets than in one of these awesome pouches from  HahnStitched

LaNelle uses a wide array of colorful fabrics and has several sizes of bags/pouches to choose from.

Here are a few of the ones that caught my eye today..........

Bright green polka
dots would be easy to find in an always
unorganized purse like mine

I hope all of those seeds I spent
planting out in the garden the
other day will soon bloom like this

Feeling a little Chevron-ish today?  Look no further than this one..I love the color combination here

And gosh I don't know about ya'll but I myself always start feeling a little more foxy with a bit more pounce to my bounce when Spring time is in the making

Spring is nature's way of saying, 'Let's party!'

These bags all make me feel a bit more festive.....how about you?
